Ingredients

  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (chilled, cubed)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup homemade onion turkey jam (for filling)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend the shredded cheddar cheese, flour, butter, salt, and garlic powder until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Form into a ball.
  2. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll the chilled dough into 1½-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet about an inch apart.
  5. Bake for 7-8 minutes until set but not golden.
  6. Press your thumb into each cookie and fill the indentation with the onion turkey jam.
  7. Return to the oven for another 7-8 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to cool before serving.
