  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken breast
  • Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
  • Provolone cheese slices
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, combine oil and butter. Add sliced green peppers and onion; season with crushed bouillon cube, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Sauté for about 15 minutes until softened.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Combine well.
  4. Stir the chicken mixture into the skillet with the vegetables; heat for another 5 minutes.
  5. Split Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer with provolone cheese slices followed by the chicken mixture and top again with cheese slices.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder; brush this over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and tops are golden brown.
  8. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
