Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 chicken bouillon cube, crushed
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken breast
- Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
- Provolone cheese slices
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, combine oil and butter. Add sliced green peppers and onion; season with crushed bouillon cube, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Sauté for about 15 minutes until softened.
- In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Combine well.
- Stir the chicken mixture into the skillet with the vegetables; heat for another 5 minutes.
- Split Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer with provolone cheese slices followed by the chicken mixture and top again with cheese slices.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder; brush this over the tops of the rolls.
