¾ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature

⅔ cup all-purpose flour

Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate & Butter
In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together over a double boiler or in the microwave in 30-second bursts.
Stir until smooth and set aside to cool slightly.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla until pale and slightly thickened.
Add the mascarpone cheese and whisk until fully combined and creamy.
Step 4: Combine Everything
Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the mascarpone mixture, stirring gently until combined.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Fold gently with a spatula until no streaks remain.
If using, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
Step 5: Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Step 6: Cool & Slice
Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Lift out using parchment and slice into squares.
