Ingredients

Scale

1 (16 oz) bag mini pretzel twists
⅔ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
½ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt (optional for extra contrast)

Optional Toppings (After Baking):
¼ cup powdered sugar
Melted white or dark chocolate for drizzling
Sprinkles or crushed candy (for holidays or themed parties)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat & Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the oil or melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.

  2. Mix until smooth and the sugar begins to dissolve slightly.

Step 3: Coat the Pretzels

  1. Add the mini pretzels to the bowl with the coating mixture.

  2. Toss gently until all pretzels are evenly coated.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection

  1. Spread the coated pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  2. Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring once halfway through to ensure even caramelization.

  3. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on the pan—the coating will crisp up as it cools.

Step 5: Optional Toppings

  1. For extra sweetness, dust with powdered sugar once the pretzels are cool.

  2. Or drizzle with melted chocolate and let set before serving.

Notes

Use Fresh Pretzels – For the best crunch and coating.
Stir Mid-Bake – Helps prevent sticking and ensures even browning.
Customize Your Flavor – Add pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or a hint of cayenne for a twist.
Cool Completely – Pretzels will get crisp as they cool, so don’t rush it.
Double the Recipe – These disappear fast, especially at parties!
