Instructions

  • 10 cups plain popped popcorn (air-popped or lightly salted)

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts

  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)

  • ¼ cup red candy melts

  • ¼ cup blue candy melts

  • 2 tbsp red, white, and blue sprinkles

  • ½ cup mini marshmallows (optional for extra sweetness)

  • ½ cup pretzel sticks, broken (optional for salty crunch)

Notes

Step 1: Pop the Popcorn

  1. Use an air popper or stovetop method to pop 10 cups of popcorn.

  2. Spread the popped popcorn out on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. Pick out any unpopped kernels to avoid biting into them.

Step 2: Melt the White Chocolate
4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips with coconut oil.
5. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and melted.
6. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn.
7. Gently toss to coat evenly using a spatula or clean hands.

Step 3: Add Red & Blue Colors
8. Melt red and blue candy melts in separate bowls, following the same microwave method.
9. Drizzle red and blue chocolate over the white-coated popcorn.
10. Use a fork or spoon to create streaks or zigzag patterns.

Step 4: Sprinkle & Add Extras
11. Immediately add red, white, and blue sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
12. Toss in mini marshmallows and pretzel pieces if using.
13. Let the popcorn sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate sets.

Step 5: Break & Serve
14. Once set, gently break apart any large clusters.
15. Transfer to a serving bowl or divide into treat bags for individual portions.
