Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Step 2: Cook the Aromatics
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 3: Make the Tomato Sauce
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix well to create a rich, creamy sauce.
Step 4: Add the Gnocchi
- Add the gnocchi directly to the sauce (no need to pre-boil).
- Stir gently to coat and let simmer for 2-3 minutes until the gnocchi starts to soften.
Step 5: Add the Cheese & Bake
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the gnocchi.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
