Ingredients

For the Skewers:
1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked beef bacon, crumbled
½ cup sour cream
2 green onions, thinly sliced
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp black pepper

Optional Toppings:
¼ cup diced tomatoes
¼ cup pickled jalapeños
Chopped chives
Ranch dressing drizzle

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tater Tots
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake according to the package instructions until crispy and golden, about 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Alternatively, cook in the air fryer for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

Step 2: Assemble the Skewers
Let the cooked tater tots cool slightly so they’re easier to handle.
Thread about 5–6 tater tots onto each skewer carefully.

Step 3: Season and Load
Place the skewers back onto the baking sheet.
Sprinkle the tater tots with garlic powder and black pepper for extra flavor.
Top generously with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled beef bacon.

Step 4: Melt the Cheese
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 5: Add Toppings
Remove the skewers from the oven.
Drizzle sour cream over the skewers or serve it on the side for dipping.
Sprinkle with sliced green onions and any optional toppings you like, such as diced tomatoes or jalapeños.

Step 6: Serve
Serve immediately while hot and cheesy.
Perfect for grabbing, dipping, and enjoying!

Notes

Use Thick Skewers – Wooden skewers work best to hold the tater tots firmly.
Let Tots Cool Slightly – Cooling a few minutes helps prevent breaking when skewering.
Customize Toppings – Add whatever you love—buffalo sauce, sriracha, or even a sprinkle of blue cheese.
Serve Fresh – These are best enjoyed hot and crispy right after baking.
