- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme (minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 sweet rolls
- 10 slices provolone cheese
- 14 ounces sliced deli roast beef
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 & 1/2 tablespoons dried onion soup mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 3 cups water
Instructions
- Sauté onions in melted butter until soft and caramelized, about 12-15 minutes. Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice the sweet rolls in half.
- Assemble sliders in a baking dish: bottom halves of rolls, half the provolone cheese, layers of roast beef, sautéed onions, remaining cheese, and top halves of rolls.
- Brush tops with melted butter mixed with onion soup mix. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare au jus according to package directions while sliders bake.
