Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme (minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 sweet rolls
  • 10 slices provolone cheese
  • 14 ounces sliced deli roast beef
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons dried onion soup mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. Sauté onions in melted butter until soft and caramelized, about 12-15 minutes. Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice the sweet rolls in half.
  3. Assemble sliders in a baking dish: bottom halves of rolls, half the provolone cheese, layers of roast beef, sautéed onions, remaining cheese, and top halves of rolls.
  4. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with onion soup mix. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Prepare au jus according to package directions while sliders bake.
