Ingredients

Scale

For the Dip Mixture:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

  • ½ cup marinated artichoke hearts, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 ½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Dip Mixture

  1. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, spinach, artichokes, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

  2. Chill mixture in the fridge for 30–60 minutes to firm up.

Step 2: Shape into Balls

  1. Once firm, scoop about 1–1½ tablespoons of the mixture and roll into balls.

  2. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. Freeze for 30 minutes or until firm.

Step 3: Bread the Balls

  1. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.

  2. Roll each chilled dip ball in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.

  3. Place back on the tray and freeze for 15 more minutes before frying (this helps them hold shape).

Step 4: Fry to Golden Perfection

  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Fry dip balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.

  3. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Step 5: Serve Hot

  1. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce: ranch, marinara, garlic aioli, or a creamy jalapeño dip.

  2. Garnish with fresh parsley or a sprinkle of Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Chill the Mixture – Cold filling is easier to roll and bread.
Don’t Skip Freezing – Helps the balls stay together when frying.
Use a Thermometer – Keeps oil at the perfect frying temp for crispiness without burning.
Double Bread for Extra Crunch – Dip in egg and breadcrumbs twice if you love a thick crust.
Try Baking or Air Frying – For a lighter version, bake at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or air fry at 375°F for 10–12 minutes.
