Ingredients

Scale

To make these flavorful tacos, you’ll need:

  • 1 ½ lbs beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas

Toppings (Optional but Recommended)

  • Shredded lettuce or cabbage
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Avocado slices
  • Crumbled feta or shredded cheddar cheese
  • Lime wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

Pat the beef slices dry with a paper towel and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and chili powder.

Step 2: Sear the Beef

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the beef and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter.
Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4: Add the BBQ and Honey Glaze

Whisk in BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 5: Coat the Beef

Return the beef to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
Cook for another 2 minutes until the beef is well-glazed.

Step 6: Assemble the Tacos

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
Fill each tortilla with the BBQ beef mixture.
Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, avocado, and cheese.
Serve with lime wedges for an extra zesty kick.

Notes

  • Thinly Slice the Beef: This ensures quick and even cooking.
  • Let the Sauce Thicken: Simmering helps the flavors meld together beautifully.
  • Warm the Tortillas: Heating them makes them more flexible and enhances the flavor.
