- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 white onion (peeled & thinly sliced)
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 pkg medium egg noodles
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large Dutch oven, heat canola oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and onion powder; cook until browned.
- Stir in sliced onions and cook until they are tender.
- In a mixing bowl, combine milk and chicken broth; whisk together.
- Push the meat mixture to one side of the pot, sprinkle flour into the empty space, and whisk to form a roux.
- Slowly add the milk mixture while whisking continuously until well combined. Simmer until thickened.
- Return drained pasta to its pot, add butter, and stir until melted.
- Serve buttered noodles topped with generous amounts of gravy.
