  • 1 medium white onion
  • 2 bell peppers (green and red)
  • 8 oz. mushrooms
  • 3 Tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices pepperjack cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms; cook until tender (5-7 minutes). Stir in minced garlic, barbecue sauce, black pepper, and kosher salt; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with egg, diced onion, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into four patties.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Add cheese during the last minute to melt.
