Ingredients

Scale

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Honey Mustard Sauce:

  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard (optional, for texture)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (about ½ lemon)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional for color)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, whole grain mustard (if using), lemon juice, garlic, and paprika.
Set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
Place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Drizzle with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.

Step 4: Add the Sauce
Brush or spoon the honey mustard sauce generously over each fillet, covering the tops completely.

Step 5: Bake the Salmon
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets.
Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 6: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges if desired.
Enjoy hot with your favorite sides!

Notes

Pat the Salmon Dry – Helps the sauce stick better and ensures even cooking.
Don’t Overbake – Keep a close eye to avoid drying out the salmon.
Use Wild-Caught Salmon – For the best flavor and texture.
Add Fresh Herbs – A sprinkle of dill or thyme adds extra freshness.
Customize the Sauce – Add a pinch of cayenne for heat or extra lemon for brightness.
