- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 14.5 ounce can (1 ¾ cups) low sodium beef broth
- 28 ounce can fire roasted crushed tomatoes
- 15 ounce can kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
- 15 ounce can black beans (rinsed and drained)
Instructions
- Press Sauté on the Instant Pot and heat olive oil. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Add ground beef and brown while crumbling until fully cooked; drain excess grease if necessary.
- Stir in minced garlic until fragrant, then cancel the sauté function.
- Add bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, tomato paste, and broth to the pot.
- Layer crushed tomatoes and beans on top without stirring.
- Secure the lid and set to pressure cook on high for 15 minutes. Allow natural release for 10 minutes before quick releasing remaining pressure.
