  • ⅔ cup powdered sugar (sifted if lumpy)
  • 12 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for the icing)
  • 12 tablespoons half-and-half, cream, or milk (for the icing)
  • 2 drops maple extract (for the icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine quick oats, flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda; whisk until blended.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, maple syrup, and maple extract; mix well.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just mixed. Fold in chopped pecans if using.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet about two inches apart.
  6. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
