Ingredients

Scale

For the Super Greens:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

  • 2 cups chopped green cabbage

  • 1 cup chopped kale (stems removed)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or coconut aminos)

  • ¼ tsp sesame oil (optional, for added flavor)

  • 2 tbsp water (for steaming)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep Your Veggies

  1. Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets.

  2. Slice cabbage into thin strips.

  3. Remove kale stems and chop into large pieces.

  4. Set all vegetables aside and keep them accessible for quick cooking.

Step 2: Sauté the Garlic

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant—don’t let it burn.

Step 3: Add the Vegetables

  1. Toss in the broccoli first and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

  2. Add cabbage and kale, stirring to combine.

  3. Pour in 2 tablespoons of water and cover the skillet with a lid to steam the veggies for another 2–3 minutes.

Step 4: Add Seasoning

  1. Remove the lid and stir in soy sauce and sesame oil (if using).

  2. Cook uncovered for 1–2 more minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve

  1. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.

  2. Serve immediately as a side or base for bowls.

Notes

Don’t Overcook – You want the veggies to stay vibrant and crisp-tender.
Add Water to Steam – Just a little water goes a long way in softening the greens.
Use Fresh Garlic – It adds a boost of flavor that’s simple but essential.
Customize the Veggies – Add bok choy, spinach, or snap peas if you like.
Double the Batch – This recipe goes fast, and leftovers are great in stir-fries!
