Ingredients
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 11 ounces turkey turkey kielbasa (sliced)
- 1 yellow onion (diced)
- 2 carrots (peeled and cut into half-moons)
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 5 cups chicken broth
- ¼ head savoy cabbage (cored and chopped)
- 3 tbsp cheese spread (at room temperature)
- 12 pierogi (cheese and potato filling)
- 3 tbsp chopped fresh dill
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients by slicing the turkey turkey kielbasa, dicing the onion, mincing the garlic, chopping the carrots and cabbage, and chopping the dill.
- In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add turkey turkey kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from pot.
- Add garlic, onion, and carrots to the pot; sauté for about 3 minutes until softened. Stir in paprika and cumin.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add cabbage, cover pot, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in cheese spread until melted. Increase heat to medium-high; add pierogi until they float (about 3–5 minutes for fresh or up to 8 minutes for frozen).
- Turn off heat; stir in turkey turkey kielbasa, dill, and finish with freshly ground black pepper before serving.
