  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup quick cooking grits
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a non-stick muffin tin.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey sausage until browned. Drain and let cool.
  3. In one bowl, whisk together flour, grits, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix melted butter, beaten eggs, buttermilk, and honey until combined.
  5. Fold the cooked turkey sausage and shredded cheddar into the wet mixture.
  6. Gently combine with dry ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Divide batter evenly into muffin cups and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
