For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 8 oz each)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs for pan flavor

For the Shrimp:

  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Squeeze of lemon juice

For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes, fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Steaks

  1. Bring steaks to room temperature and pat dry.

  2. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a hot skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add steaks and cook 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and preferred doneness.

  5. Add herbs to the pan during the last minute for aroma.

  6. Remove steaks, tent with foil, and let rest while you cook the shrimp.

Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same skillet, add olive oil and butter over medium heat.

  2. Add shrimp and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Sauté for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked.

  4. Add minced garlic in the last 30 seconds and squeeze in lemon juice.

  5. Transfer shrimp to a plate.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

  5. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and creamy.

Step 4: Assemble & Serve

  1. Plate the rested steak and top with shrimp.

  2. Generously spoon creamy garlic sauce over both.

  3. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

  4. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Let Steak Rest – Prevents juices from running out and keeps it tender.
