Ingredients

Scale

You’ll need:

  • 1 lb ground chicken: A lean and protein-rich base.
  • ½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese: Adds a sharp, melty goodness.
  • ½ cup fresh spinach, finely chopped: For extra nutrients and flavor.
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (or panko): Helps hold the burgers together.
  • 1 egg: Binds everything together.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder: Adds a subtle, savory kick.
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder: Enhances the flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon paprika: Adds a touch of warmth.
  • ½ teaspoon salt: Enhances all the flavors.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper: A little spice to balance the flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil: For cooking (if pan-searing).

For Serving:

  • Burger buns or lettuce wraps
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Red onion slices
  • Extra white cheddar cheese
  • Dijon mustard or mayo

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Burger Patties

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded white cheddar, chopped spinach, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until just combined—don’t overwork the mixture.
  3. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.

Step 2: Cook the Burgers

For Pan-Searing:
4. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
5. Cook the burgers for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp of 165°F / 74°C).

For Grilling:
6. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
7. Grill burgers for 5 minutes per side, flipping once.

Step 3: Assemble & Serve

  1. Toast the burger buns for extra flavor (optional).
  2. Assemble with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, red onion, extra cheese, and Dijon mustard or mayo.

Notes

Don’t Overmix the Meat – This keeps the burgers juicy and tender.
Use Freshly Shredded Cheese – It melts better than pre-packaged cheese.
Keep Your Hands Wet When Forming Patties – Prevents sticking.
