  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 garlic clove (finely minced)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ onion (diced)
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups beef stock

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, egg, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and minced garlic until evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into four oval patties about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion and mushrooms until softened. Stir in butter and flour to create a roux before gradually adding beef stock to form a rich gravy.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer for an additional few minutes until fully cooked through.
