- 2 ½ cups Chicken Broth
- 1 can (about 14 oz) Crushed Tomatoes
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 small Onion (finely chopped, optional)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 pound Sirloin Steak (cut into thin strips)
- White Queso (for topping)
- Fresh Cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Rinse basmati rice under cold water until clear; set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic and onion for 2–3 minutes.
- Add rice to the skillet and toast for about 2 minutes.
- Combine crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and seasonings; stir to mix.
- Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
- While rice cooks, season steak with Montreal steak seasoning. In another skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat; cook steak for about 4–5 minutes per side.
- Fluff rice and top with steak and queso; garnish with cilantro.
